Travel Arrangements

Hey folks are block booking rooms. So, if you need help making travel arrangements check out the "Travel & Stay" page of the website. We added another reputable hotel to the list.

Some of the BlaqOUT Conference Planning Committee working hard!

Also, check out the Facebook "BlaqOUT Conference 2015 Ride/Room Share" group.

This group is for the purposes of connecting people seeking to attend the Second BlaqOUT Conference being held on April 10-11, 2015 at the University of California, Riverside!

If you are coming from out of town this is a place to connect with others to carpool, or if you live in the area of the conference, it is a place where you can connect with people that need a place to stay.

Please keep posts and comments on topic and only post or respond if you have a need or can provide help in this area.

This is a community forum and we believe that our community members will hold principles of respect and consciousness. This community forum does not have the capacity to vet the rides or housing offered on this page – we encourage people to have transparent conversations with each other prior to agreeing or committing to housing or travel about needs and expectations.

Thank you and see you at the conference!!!!  This page is not sponsored by the BlaqOUT Conference Planning Committee it is a community forum to help get people together.

#ThisIsLuv - Multimedia Campaign

Hey BlaqOUT Conference,

I wanted to share with you some resources for those who work with and/or support LGBTQ communities of color. This month, Darnell Moore and Wade Davis launched an exciting multimedia campaign called #ThisIsLuv, designed to highlight stories and images of acceptance and love for LGBTQ people in black communities. The campaign stretches across Ebony, Tumblr and the Huffington Post.

Some of the writings include:

"How My Dad Became a Queer Black Feminist" by Alexis Pauline Gumbs.

"They Loved Me as a Daughter, They Love Me as a Son" by Tiq Milan.

"A Black Bisexual Manifesto" by Crystal Fleming.

Finally, here's a link to a HuffPostLive conversation with some of the people involved in the campaign!
