We invite you to submit workshops that align with the mission of this conference, specifically examining the scope of this work: the intersections of social justice, identity, and the theme of the conference “I Love My BlaQness and Yours Too” . Some areas may include but not limited to:
  • Blaqueer and BlaqTrans* empowerment and/or experiences
  • Navigating spaces Post-election
  • Spaces for healing from institution trauma/violence
  • Activism and organizing around identities
  • Art based workshops
  • Tradition, legacy, identity, love as the revolution
  • BlaQ Magic
  • BlaQ is.. BlaQ Aint...
BlaqTALKS:
Storytelling and testimonio have served as a vital method for knowledge sharing, honoring lived experiences, and healing. These 20 minute Blaq Talks seek to provide presenters the opportunity to address specific experiences pertaining to their identity, advocacy, and social justice journeys at their institutions or within their organizations. Some thoughts that may be helpful in considering include: How does it feel to navigate white institutions as Blaqueer and/or BlaqTrans folks? What does love mean for Blaqueer and BlaqTrans folks? How to survive during a Trump regime while anti-black racism and anti-LGBTQIA rhetoric is no longer subtle?
